A military enthusiast from Bedfordshire has raised thousands of pounds so he can build a memorial to his county's brave soldiers who fought in the First World War.

At the moment, there is no acknowledgement of the Bedfordshire Regiment on the Western Front in Belgium - something Ian Mould, from Shortstown in Bedfordshire, decided should change.

He has now successfully raised £5,000 to have the memorial stone made and will head across the Channel in November to take it to Tyncot British Cemetery.
