Royal Lancers get heroes welcome
Among the events that have taken place this weekend to mark Armed Forces Day was the return of the 9th/12th Royal Lancers to Northampton.
The Lancers, also known as the Prince of Wales regiment have just got back from an eight month tour in Afghanistan.
They have been heavily involved with the closing down of camps like Bastion as British troops gradually withdraw from the area.
True to their name they marched though Northampton with lances, the weapon which they carried during the First World War.
It was a time to remember those killed in conflicts past and present and to celebrate the safe return of some of Northampton's sons and daughters.
