Queen's Birthday Honours: Cambridgeshire
The England women's cricket captain Charlotte Edwards has been made a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours. Charlotte, who was born in Huntingdon, is the only female cricketer to score 2,000 runs in T20 Internationals. At the time when she made her England debut in 1995, she was the youngest player ever to play for England.
Others being honoured in Cambridgeshire include a top expert in statistics from the city's university. David Spiegelhalter has been knighted for his work in the field. He specialises in the science of risk, and the probability of certain things happening in everyday life.
Jacquelyn O'Doherty has been awarded a British Empire Medal for helping out at Jimmy's Night Shelter in Cambridge.
