Couple hope life will be plain sailing for charity trip

Geraldine and Alan Sinfield from Oundle are about to embark on a voyage to raise cash for a cancer charity.

The pair both lost their previous spouses to the disease, and since marrying each other, both have been diagnosed with cancer themselves.

Now they plan to sail their way around the UK to raise money for charity.

The Tante Helene set off from Shotley Marina in Ipswich. Alan will be joined on the first leg of the trip by his friend Mike.

Geraldine will join Alan for three months of the four month trip.

She was diagnosed with bladder cancer earlier this year. Alan was treated for prostate and testicular cancer last year.

Which is why - they hope to raise - £10,000 for the Urology Foundation.
