Conservative majority: 20

The Conservatives are defending a sizeable overall majority on Welwyn Hatfield council in Hertfordshire in the local elections on Thursday 22 May 2014. There are elections for 16 of the 48 councillors.

The council used to regularly flip-flop between Labour and Conservative control but the Tories have had an overall controlling majority since 2002. The council was last in Labour hands between 2000 and 2002.
