Judge: Anixang Du was a "man on a mission" on the day he killed Ding family
A businessman who murdered four members of the same family at their home in Northampton has been sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum of 40 years.
Sentencing 54-year-old Anxiang Du from Coventry for the murders of Jeff Ding, his wife Helen and their daughters Xing and Alice, Mr Justice Flaux said:
He said that Anxiang Du had brooded after losing the legal battle with the Dings - a defeat which had fuelled his "hatred and anger".
Mr Justice Flaux told the court that when Du left home that morning he had been "calm and methodical, a man on a mission".
He said Du had gone into Jeff Dings kitchen where he was minding his own business, then killed "the man he hated" and his wife.
Afterwards he executed their two daughters, who he found "cowering upstairs".
Helen Chiu's father and brother were in court this morning.
Afterwards their interpreter told reporters that the family were happy with the sentence.
