Future of RAF base secured

The future of RAF Marham has been secured after it was announced the base would be home to the new joint strike fighter.

The announcement was made today by the Secretary of State for Defence Philip Hammond while visiting the Norfolk air base.

Marham had been at risk of closure after it was revealed the Tornado fleet would be taken out of service in 2017. Today's announcement secures its future for at least the next 20 years.
