Chewing gum ban in Milton Keynes?

A sticky problem Credit: PA

Campaigners in Milton Keynes are hoping the town will become the first in the UK to ban chewing gum.

It's been reported in The Sun newspaper that campaign group After8 proposed the Singapore-style ban after finding 22 pieces of gum on one square foot of pavement.

It can cost the council up to 10p to remove each bit of gum stuck on the pavement.
