Widow calls for improved farm safety after slurry pit death

Call for improved farm safety

The widow of a farm worker killed when he was submerged in slurry has called for more to be done to improve safety in agriculture.

An inquest earlier this week heard how Craig Whipps died while emptying a tank containing the liquid manure on a farm at Stapleford Tawney in Essex.

His colleague Paul Gray was overcome by fumes as he tried to help him.

Vicky Whipps says others must now learn the lessons from the tragedy.
