Double Olympic champion Laura Trott has made a double gold winning appearance at the Track World Cup cycling event in Glasgow.

Having won the team pursuit title for Great Britain with Ellinor Barker and Danielle King on Day One (Friday) Trott, from Cheshunt in Hertfordshire, took the Omnium title on Day 3 (Sunday). She beat her nearest challenger Ashlee Ankudinoff of Australia.

The 20 year old, who cycled with the Welwyn Wheelers club as a youngster, needed to finish at least two places above Ankudinoff in the final discipline - the 500 metres Time Trial - to take gold. This she managed to do, with the Australian coming fourth to claim silver.

Earlier in the Omnium competition Trott won the Elimination Race and the Individual Pursuit disciplines to head the field at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome. But she slipped to second after the Scratch race, which put the pressure on going into the last event.
