Teenagers help police with fatal Harlow fire investigation
Two teenagers have been helping detectives with their investigation into a fire at a home in Essex which claimed the lives of a mother and her five children.
The school pupils came forward following a media appeal yesterday from police officers and Dr Abdul Shakoor, the only survivor from Harlow fire.
The two teenagers were able to show detectives where they had found a laptop bag which could have been stolen from the house before the fire. The teenagers said they found the bag abandoned in bushes in a cut through between St Michael’s Close and Whitewaits, Harlow.
The area will now be searched. Anyone who has any information about seeing someone abandon the bag in this new area is asked to contact detectives on 0800 0560 944.
There have been a few calls to the team but no new information. The appeals regarding the Toshiba Satellite laptop and the group of four youths and two people on bicycles are still ongoing.
