Whipsnade Zoo’s newest arrival is already standing tall at almost six feet.

The reticulated giraffe was born to first-time parents Ijuma and Uno on September 30. He took his first wobbly steps just hours after birth.

The new arrival is expected to grow a staggering inch every day in his first year.

Whipsnade’s new calf is extra special because when 10-year-old Uno, which means number one, arrived at Whipsnade last year as the Zoo’s breeding male, he was slightly smaller and less muscular than the average male.

But what he lacked in stature he's made up for in spirit and soon learned to ‘walk tall’ to gain the attention of the females in the paddock.
