The Assistant Manager of MK Dons Mick Harford has praised Cambridge City, who performed beyond expectations last night to draw against the Dons in the first round of the FA Cup.

There were plenty of chances for both teams, but the Dons had the best opportunities. In the second half they hit both posts, and forced an accomplished save from the Cambridge keeper just minutes later. The final score was 0 - 0, setting up a replay in Milton Keynes.

Speaking after the game Mick Harford said it was disappointing for MK Dons to have so many chances but no goals. He also praised the Cambridge City players, saying they had "defended for their lives".

The Cambridge Manager Gary Roberts also spoke of his team's "brilliant" performance, saying he had hoped for an upset but thought it would be a big challenge. He praised the quality of the Cambridge players and their confidence, and asked for fans to give the team their full support for matches against Bedworth and Bedford before they replay the Dons in a week and a half's time.
