Mildenhall Fen Tigers have had a season to remember - the best in the speedway club's history. Last night they won the National League play-offs which virtually assures them of the grand slam.

King's Lynn's Norfolk Arena hosted the deciding leg of their play-off final last night against Dudley. There was a lot of tension throughout the match which led up to a dramatic last heat with Mildenhall's Stefan Nielsen and Dudley's Adam Roynon colliding together.

Roynon suffered a broken leg and shoulder, but was also excluded, leaving Dudley with one rider in the re-run. Nielsen however was able to race as Mildenhall claimed the points they needed for victory meaning they added another title to that of the knock-out cup.

The Fen Tigers have also won the National League Best Pairs and the National League Fours. Only a big defeat against Stoke next Wednesday will deny them the National Trophy. It is a big result for Chris Louis, Michael Lee and Kevin Jolly in only their second season as co-promoters.
