Mel Clarke from Norwich won a silver medal in archery at the Paralympics after getting to the final against fellow Briton Danielle Brown.

Clarke was beaten 6-4 by the 2008 Paralympic champion from West Yorkshire in a tense final of the women's individual compound competition.

Mel Clarke was bronze medallist in Beijing and shot six scores of 10, compared to three scores of 10 for Brown. But when it came to the final arrow, she was unable to shoot another maximum.

"It was a close match," the 30-year-old from Norwich said.

"I shot really well all day. I'm really proud. It came down to the last arrow and to be that close is brilliant."

Clarke now intends to go for gold in Rio in four years' time.
