Comedian helps give rehab centre financial boost
A documentary about comedian Russell Brand has resulted in a Suffolk charity receiving thousands of pounds in donations.
The BBC documentary 'Russell Brand: Addiction to Recovery' charted the actor's battle with heroin and his road to recovery.
Brand, most recently seen in the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic games, credits Focus12, a Bury St Edmunds-based alcohol and drug rehabilitation centre with turning his life around.
After the broadcast the charity received a donation from a local company, Chevington Finance and Leasing, who have agreed a package of support worth £106,000 over the next four years.
Brand is now a patron of the charity.
