Louis Smith takes silver
Louis Smith from Peterborough has won a silver medal in the pommel horse final.
The gymnast gave a near flawless performance, putting him joint first on points with Krisztian Berki, but the Hungarian got gold for the execution of his routine.
Max Whitlock, who trains at the South Essex gymnastics club in Basildon, gave Team GB an extra boost with a bronze medal. It was the second medal of the Games for both Smith, 23, and Whitlock, 19, who also won bronze with their team mates in the group all around competition on Tuesday.
Today the pair were cheered on by the Duchess of Cambridge. She sat in the front row alongside other Team GB gymnasts, clasping her hands in front of her face as Smith took his turn on the pommel horse.
