Former Cambridge student Anna Watkins has rowed to Olympic glory.

Watkins together with team mate Katherine Grainger delivered Team GB's sixth Olympic gold medal with an emphatic victory in the final of the women's double sculls.

The British pair went clear, with only the Australians for company, in the first half of the race and built clear water to win the race in style.

Watkins took up rowing while studying at Newnham College, Cambridge as an 18-year-old undergraduate.
