A unique area of marshland on the North Norfolk coast will soon be turned into a nature reserve.

Norfolk Wildlife Trust has been allowed to buy the land near Blakeney Point and now needs to find £1 million to finalise the deal.

The Norfolk Wildlife Trust currently own the marshes at Cley and Satlhouse and have been given the chance to buy the privately owned 143 acres in between to join them all up as a nature reserve.

Brendan Joyce, Chief Executive of Norfolk Wildlife Trust, said: "It's kind of a bit of the missing jigsaw. We've had our eyes on it for a very long tie. It's amazing it's come up at this time. It's currently used for commercial shooting but obviously we'd much rather it was in conservation management."

The Trust has secured the land through a special finance deal and now has 22 months to raise the £1 million asking price.
