Elena Baltacha in action at Wimbledon

Ipswich's Elena Baltacha starts her Wimbledon tennis campaign today (June 26) in the Ladies Singles.

The 28 year old British number 2 - now number 101 in the WTA World rankings - faces the Italian Karin Knapp, who is eleven places lower.

It will be Baltacha's 11th appearance at the All England Championships. She'll be hoping to clear the first hurdle, which she failed to do in her previous Grand Slam outings this year.

Baltacha lost to Stephanie Foretz-Gacon of France in Round One of the Australian Open in January, and suffered a straight sets 1st Round exit in the French Open against the Australian Samantha Stosur.
