The Queen is in Hertfordshire today (Thursday), as she continues her Diamond Jubilee tour in the East of England.

First, she will tour Hitchin market square and speak to local shopkeepers and school children.

The Queen will then visit the Lister Hospital in Stevenage, where she'll open the new £16 million maternity wing. Her mother opened the hospital itself 40 years ago.

Later, she will visit Hatfield House, once home to Queen Elizabeth I, where she will plant a tree.

Keith Hoskins, Hitchin town centre manager, told ITV Anglia around 7000 people have turned out to see the Queen.
