Chris Hughton to meet with Norwich City
Birmingham City have given Norwich City permission to speak to Chris Hughton over the vacant manager's position at Carrow Road.
Norwich City have embarked on - what they called - a 'Europe-wide' hunt for a new boss following the departure of Paul Lambert.
An Englishman is the current bookies favourite to take over though, Chris Hughton is now 1-3 on.
Hughton has enjoyed success at his current club, Birmingham, by leading them to the group stages of the Europa League, despite the fact they were playing in the Championship.
He also narrowly-missed out on promotion to the Premier League this season, after his Birmingham side narrowly lost 3-2 to Blackpool in their Championship play-off semi-final.
Hughton has Premier League experience too, managing Newcastle United after helping them win promotion from the Championship. He finished in 12th place in his first full-season in the Premier League with the Magpies. He was controversially sacked from his job the following season, causing an angry reaction from fans and former players.
Former Norwich manager Paul Lambert is expected to be officially unveiled as new Aston Villa boss at a press conference today.
