Labour majority: 1

One of six unitary councils in the Anglia region where all the local services are run by a single council rather than two as in most areas. Labour have an overall majority for first time since they lost power to the Conservatives in 2004. The council had been hung since 2007 although Labour became the biggest party in 2011.
