Opening weekend for Northampton marina

As the Easter holidays get underway, people in Northampton have been enjoying the town's new marina.

The two and a half million pound development was officially opened on Friday, after more than two years of construction work at Becket's Park. A number of different organisations are behind the project, including the Environment Agency, Northampton Borough Council and Northamptonshire County Council. Boaters can now take advantage of the 78 moorings on the site, which is the first phase of a regeneration project in the area.
