Florida shootings: the latest

A teenager charged with killing Northamptonshire tourist James Kouzaris has appeared in court in America.

Shawn Tyson, 16, is accused of killing 24-year-old James Kouzaris and his friend James Cooper, 25, while they were on holiday in Florida in April last year.

The men were on a three-week trip with Mr Cooper’s family when they were shot in a residential area in Newtown after a night out.

A pre-trial hearing was held in Sarasota on Monday, and a trial will be held later this month.
