DAVID WHITELEY
David joined ITV News Anglia in June 2021 to present alongside Becky Jago.
David has been presenting television and radio since 1995, starting out in commercial radio at 18 years old in Southend-on-Sea. He and Becky actually worked for the same radio group in the 90s!
In 1998 David joined the BBC and worked in radio, before making the move into television as a presenter and filmmaker. David spent 23 years at the BBC, fronting the regional current affairs programme and the evening news. David also spent his weekends on the radio too.
As a lifelong Star Wars fan, and born on May the Fourth, his dream came true when he was to produce and present a 90-minute documentary about the making of the film. It was awarded Programme of the Year by the Royal Television Society. David also turned 'The Galaxy Britain Built' into a book.
As a journalist and presenter, David has spent his life hosting programmes and conducted thousands of interviews. In 2002 he was named Newcomer of the Year and in 2017, Best On Screen Personality - The Royal Television Society.
