Biker caught doing 156mph

Peter Clarke was caught doing 156mph and undertaking two cars on A1 near Sawtry in Cambridgeshire.

Mr Clarke had argued that although he was speeding it wasn't dangerous as he was in control of his vehicle.

The police officer who stopped Mr Clarke says its rare to see people travel at such a speed. In fact the highest speed he's ever recorded is 158mph.

The judge said Mr Clarke showed 'reckless disregard for the safety of others' on a 'dangerous' road. She fined him £1000 and gave him an18 month driving ban.
