Filmmaker Jeff Baena, actor Aubrey Plaza's husband, dies aged 47

Director Jeff Baena, husband of actor Aubrey Plaza, died aged 47 as coroners continue to determine the cause of his death.

Medical examiners confirmed Mr Baena's body was found in his Los Angeles home on Friday but that the circumstances surrounding his death were unclear.

The American filmmaker, who is best known for his dark comedy films, married actor Aubrey Plaza in 2021.

The family told the Hollywood news site Deadline they are "devastated".

Mr Beana co-wrote David O. Russell's 2004 film “I Heart Huckabees” and went on to write and direct his own films.

His first film, the 2014 zombie comedy "Life after Beth", featured future wife Aubrey Plaza who went on to star in two of his other films "The Little Hours” and “Spin Me Round.”
