Is Suella Braverman one step closer to joining Nigel Farage in Reform UK?

Is Suella Braverman one step closer to ditching the Conservative Party and instead joining Nigel Farage in Reform UK?

That's the claim some people have made after her husband joined the party over the weekend.

Businessman Rael Braverman posted on X to announce the news, explaining it was over the Conservatives' "incompetence and failure".

In the post Mr Braverman explained: "I have left the Conservative Party because it has become a shadow of what it once stood for.

"I deeply regret that it has come to this, as there are still a handful of decent MPs trying to do the right thing.

"I believe in politics driven by conviction and a genuine commitment to serving our nation, not by empty promises and mismanagement."

The announcement prompted speculation about former Home Secretary Suella Braverman's future with the Tories.

This comes after a national poll involving more than 2,000 Brits from Find Out Now put Reform ahead of Labour for the first time, but still just below the Tories.

And he's not the only new starter.

Former Tory Minister Andrea Jenkyns, who lost her seat in July's election, is standing for Reform to be Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire when local elections take place across England next May.

The party also claims it now has more than 100,000 official paid-up members, to the Tories' roughly 113,000 and Labour's 300,000.

But will the Conservative MP for Fareham and Waterlooville be defecting?

She said it "wasn't true", and told The Times: "This is the 21st century and not the 18th - my husband does not speak for me."
