Elon Musk denies reports he will donate £80m to Nigel Farage's Reform
Watch as Elon Musk responds to ITV News' question about donations to Reform UK
Billionaire Elon Musk denied reports he was planning to donate £80 million to Nigel Farage's Reform UK party when answering a question from ITV News.
Musk was asked about the rumoured donation as he arrived on Capitol Hill on Thursday to meet with legislators with Vivek Ramaswamy, another businessman with whom he is set to lead the new Department of Government Efficiency.
On November 29, Musk shared a post on X claiming Reform UK will win the next election, captioning his repost with "yes".
The Times reported last weekend that Musk "could be about to put his money where his mouth is" with a massive £80 million boost to Reform.
Farage then told GB News he was unaware of any planned donations, but claimed Musk was "very supportive" of him.
He said: "He thinks that if Reform do well in the UK, we can bring about the same kind of change that he intends to do with Donald Trump in America."
Musk was one of Donald Trump's most prominent supporters in the run-up to the US election, appearing at rallies, and interviewing the president-elect on his social media platform X.
He even launched a lottery which offered registered voters in swing states the chance to win $1 million (£784,000) if they signed a pro-US constitution petition promoted by Musk's campaign group.
When Trump unveiled his economic proposals in September 2024, he announced Musk had agreed to lead a new government efficiency commission.
