Rail strikes: Here's how train services will be impacted amid industrial action
Downing Street has expressed disappointment as rail operators begin a set of fresh strikes this week. ITV News' Chris Choi explains which services will be affected
Aslef union are taking part in strike action across the weekend as a long running dispute over pay continues.
Members of Aslef launched the wave of fresh walkouts on Tuesday which industrial action due to continue until February 6.
The rolling programme of walkouts will mean drivers will be working for different train operators each day, which union leaders have previously said causes maximum disruption.
With overtime bans and drivers strikes across the network, commuters will face delays, cancellations, and in some cases, no service at all.
Here's how the strike will impact each network on each day.
There are 200 versions of train strikes planned - ITV News Consumer Editor Chris Choi writes
The two sides haven’t had talks since last April and none are scheduled. ASLEF union leader Mick Whelan told me he has 200 variations of the strike plan up his sleeve and if needed would carry on this dispute for another 18 months. So no real sense of an agreement in the offing - no end in sight. This dispute has been dragging on for around 18 months it started in the summer of 2022. There are no talks, no sign of progress and zero impact from the new law designed to bring minimum service levels during transport strikes. That law gives the rail, firms powers to issue work notices saying they must provide minimum service - deemed to be about 40% of the timetable. But rail firms have confirmed to us that no work notices were issued and both the employer and the union say the new law is unworkable.
