Covid: Further 74 coronavirus deaths recorded as another 38,009 cases confirmed
A further 74 people have died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test, while another 38,009 lab-confirmed coronavirus cases have been recorded.
The Department of Health figures, recorded in the 24 hours to 9am on Sunday, bring the UK's Covid death toll since to start of the pandemic to 140,632.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been more than 165,000 deaths registered in the UK where the virus was mentioned on the death certificate.
England
The majority of new Covid cases and deaths were in England where another 59 fatalities within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test were recorded and there were another 31,479 lab-confirmed cases.
Scotland
Scotland recorded no further Covid-related deaths in the 24 hours to 9am on Sunday, but the nation saw another 2,513 cases.
Wales
Nine more coronavirus fatalities were recorded in Wales and a further 3,016 cases were recorded.
Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland saw another six Covid deaths and 1,0001 new cases.
