This is the artist who's achieved extraordinary success from the most terrible of circumstances.

Matthew Rutherford wasn't expected to survive after a car crash left him with severe injuries to his brain, limiting his ability to speak.

To help him communicate, he was encouraged to take up painting.

And the results have been stunning.
