Florida man catches alligator outside home using wheelie bin

A man was filmed in Florida guarding his home from an alligator using nothing but a wheelie bin.

In a video shared on Instagram, the man is seen slowly ambling towards the hissing alligator with the bin open and on its side.

He pushes the bin slowly as the alligator backs off, eventually getting close enough for the alligator to be facing the opening.

Seizing the opportunity, he then thrusts the bin forward, swallowing the alligator whole into the bin.

He then lifts it and closes the lid despite the struggles of the alligator, which had been thrashing its tail from side to side.

The video has quickly spread online, with hundreds of thousands of views across Instagram and Twitter.
