Missing British Dr Who actress Tanya Fear found safe in LA
A British actress who was reported missing last week in Los Angeles, has reportedly been found safe.
Tanya Fear, 31, disappeared after leaving her Hollywood Bowl apartment without her mobile phone and purse on September 9, according to the @FindTanyaFear Twitter account, which is described as being run by her family.
The Twitter page posted a statement late on Monday saying Ms Fear had been found.
“It is with great pleasure and relief to report, that Tanya has been found safe, by police today”, the statement read.
“We understand she is not physically harmed, but as a precaution, is being assessed at a local hospital.
“Tanya’s family are relived (sic) and extremely grateful”, it added.
The page also thanked the police and members of the public for their help in locating Ms Fear and for their support.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Ms Fear had been found at 11am local time on Monday September 13, according to local news sites, but did not immediately provide additional details.
The actress, whose real name is Tanyaradzwa Fear, starred in BBC drama Dr Who in 2018, as well as appearing in several TV shows including Endeavour and Spotless. She was also seen in the movie Kick-Ass 2 and had recently started doing stand-up comedy.
According to the Twitter page @FindTanyaFear, she had been living in LA for six years on and off and had no family in the country.
At the time, the page said Ms Fear’s family were applying for visas to travel to LA and launch their own search.
A quote from her mother, Yvonne Marimo, read: “I am devastated about this situation, and I appeal to anyone with information to please come forward to bring our daughter back home safely”.
