Exclusive: CCTV appears to show Jake Davison in middle of Plymouth shooting spree
CCTV footage has emerged that appears to show Plymouth shooter Jake Davison crossing a road with what is believed to be a gun in his hand in the middle of his killing spree which left five people dead.
Davison, 22, shot and killed his mother Maxine Davison, also known as Maxine Chapman, at a house in Biddick Drive in the Keyham area on Thursday evening before killing four others and himself.
In the CCTV footage obtained by ITV News, he appears to be carrying a gun, which is lowered by his side, after he had already killed several of his victims.
He walks by a house and crosses the road in the direction of a hair salon, which is where he shot his fifth victim. This is where the footage ends.
He then turned the gun on himself.
In a statement released earlier on Friday, Devon and Cornwall Police said the gun used by Davison was carried legally.
“As previously said by Devon & Cornwall Police, the firearm believed to have been used during the incident was legally held by the offender," it read.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct [IOPC] will investigate the police force over Davison’s possession of a shotgun and shotgun certificate, which were returned to him only last month after being removed in September 2020 following an allegation of assault.
