Covid: UK reports 36,389 new cases and 64 more deaths

The UK has reported a further 36,389 new cases of Covid-19 and a further 64 deaths.

Cases have been dropping slightly recently, with 39,906 cases reported on Thursday compared to last Thursday and Friday which saw 48,553 and 51,870 cases respectively.

A total of 64 people also died from Covid-19 on Friday the government confirmed, bringing the UK total to 129,044.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 154,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

England

England reported 32,792 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday and 56 further deaths.

Scotland

There were six new deaths from Covid-19 confirmed in Scotland on Friday and a further 1,505 cases.

Wales

There were 755 new cases of Covid-19 in Wales on Friday and a single new death.

Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland reported a single new Covid-19 death and 1,337 new cases.
