UK records 34,471 new Covid-19 cases as July 19 confirmed as end of restrictions in England
The UK has recorded a further 34,471 new cases of Covid-19 as the government announced it would press ahead with its plan to end restrictions in England on July 19.
Cases are up 30% in the past seven days when compared to the previous week and show no sign of slowing down.
The UK also confirmed six new deaths on Monday bringing the UK total to 128,431.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been more than 153,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
England
England confirmed 30,619 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday and six new deaths.
Scotland
No new Covid deaths were confirmed in Scotland on Monday but they did announce 2,134 more cases.
Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland recorded 528 new cases on Monday and no new deaths.
Wales
Wales recorded 1,190 new Covid cases on Monday and no new deaths.
