Covid: UK records over 11,000 further cases and 27 deaths
A further 27 people have died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Tuesday, the government said. The increase brings the UK death toll to 128,008. Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have now been 153,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate. The government also said that there has been a further 11,625 lab-confirmed cases in the UK. The number of cases confirmed since the beginning of the outbreak is now 4,651,988.

England 23 of the new Covid-related deaths reported in the UK were in England, bringing the nation's death toll to 112,585.
