Could Scouts with a goal-side seat at the 1966 World Cup Final put an end to 55-year debate about that England goal?
Video report by ITV News Correspondent Paul Davies
It was England's 'finest hour' and the search is on for a group of boys who were in the perfect place to witness it.
The goal that put England ahead in the 1966 World Cup Final remains controversial even 55 years on. Did it really cross the line?
Now, a high-definition colour restoration of the match has identified four key witnesses - a small group of Boy Scouts sitting on the touchline with a perfect view.
The boys - who are likely now in their 70s - are bound to have an incredible story to tell.
And hat-trick hero Sir Geoff Hurst would like to meet them.
He said: "Hopefully all four of them are still around and that would be great and I would enjoy meeting them and having a laugh, finding out how they felt not only about the goal but my stupid celebration."
