What does the word "Viking" conjure up?
A slightly scary looking tall blond man from Scandinavia, with a horned helmet? But that traditional image, shaped over a thousand years of history, is being challenged. Research from a Danish university suggests they weren't all blond. In fact, many were dark haired, weren't tall and they weren't all from Scandinavia.
