Coronavirus crisis through the eyes of children: 'I used to have a happy life, but now everything's gone wrong'
Primary school children tell ITV Tonight how the pandemic has affected them
It's difficult as an adult to comprehend the coronavirus crisis - for young minds it's no doubt even more confusing.
Here is an insight into how the pandemic has appeared through children's eyes, from the strictest lockdown to life going forward.
Children from two primary schools shared their feelings about the past few months as part of ITV's Tonight programme 'Generation Covid: Our Children in Crisis?', which looks at the worrying consequences of the pandemic on children and young people in the UK.
Childline - perhaps the country’s best-known service for children in crisis - told Tonight it had been inundated with calls since lockdown began.
The charity has seen a 37 per cent rise in the number of children under the age of 11 contacting them for mental and emotional health issues during lockdown restrictions.
And worries about what’s happening in the world have increased by more than 150 per cent.
Watch ‘Generation Covid: Our Children in Crisis? Tonight’, 7.30pm on Thursday 16 July on ITV and the ITV Hub
