Results: AEW 'Fyter Fest' on FiteTV in collaboration with ITV Box Office
All Elite Wrestling's latest PPV show 'Fyter Fest' was broadcast live last night (Saturday night, June 29th) on FiteTV in partnership with ITV Box Office.
The event, that took place at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, during the CEO Fighting Game Championships, has given wrestling fans all over the world a revolution that they can get behind.
Repeats of the show are available on-demand in the UK & Ireland through FiteTV in partnership with ITV Box Office until August 13th. For more information, click here.
With such an amazing night of pro wrestling now behind us, we take a look back at the results and who came out on top at Fyter Fest.
Best Friends defeated Private Party and SCU (BUY IN):
Kicking off the night's proceedings on the free-to-air preview show, the "Buy In", on AEW's YouTube channel, was the three-way tag team match.
Best Friends, Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta, were the winners of this match and have earned themselves a bye in the first round of the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament at ALL OUT on August 31st.
Following the match, The Dark Order appeared on screen with some menacing words for Taylor and Baretta who will now have a target on their backs as part of the AEW tag team division.
Allie defeated "the librarian" Leva Bates w/ Peter Avalon (BUY IN):
This was the first ever singles match from the women's division of All Elite Wrestling.
Despite the librarian's best efforts, including interference from Avalon, the pair were left eating their own words when the match ended in a victory for Allie who made her first appearance with the company.
This was a huge win for Allie who will be taking on Chief Brand Officer, Brandi Rhodes, at Fight for the Fallen in two weeks time.
Michael Nakazawa defeated Alex Jebailey in a hardcore match (BUY IN):
The founder of the CEO Fighting Game Championships, Alex Jebailey was able to impress wrestling fans by showing us all that he's more than capable between the ropes but it ultimately wasn't enough to get the better of the slippery Michael Nakazawa.
Given the video game environment for the match, it was Jebailey that unleashed a bag of arcade machine buttons into the ring only for him to be back body dropped onto them by Nakazawa who eventually reversed a roll-up pin to claim the win.
CIMA defeated Christopher Daniels:
With both of these men in their 40s, the veterans were able to put on a wrestling showcase in a short space of time to get fans warmed up for the rest of the night.
After landing a Meteora from the top turnbuckle, CIMA was able to overcome the loss that OWE suffered to SCU at Double Or Nothing and pick up the win over Daniels here at Fyter Fest.
Riho defeated Yuka Sakazaki and Nyla Rose:
One of the best matches of the night saw the female contingent of All Elite Wrestling yet again show everyone why women's wrestling is so special in 2019.
The favourite going into this match, Nyla Rose was left furious when she suffered the pinfall loss to Riho who was able to counter a Beast Bomb and claim the victory.
After the match, Rose attempted to take her frustration out on Riho but was cleared out of the ring by the Joshi wrestlers.
"Hangman" Adam Page defeated MJF, Jungle Boy and Jimmy Havoc:
Before this match had even started, Maxwell Jacob Friedman was running his opponents down in the ring and even had time to insult the fans.
The smirk was soon wiped from his face as opponents Jungle Boy, Adam Page and British wrestler, Jimmy Havoc, began to lay into MJF before turning on one another.
Ultimately, it would be the AEW World Championship contender, "Hangman" Page, that came out on top in this four-way match as he will look to continue his momentum before facing Chris Jericho for the title at ALL OUT on August 31st.
Cody vs Darby Allin ended in a time limit draw:
The debuting Darby Allin was able to survive within the match time limit to earn a draw with a visibly frustrated Cody Rhodes whose final pinfall attempt fell just one second short of the referees three-count.
Before the crowd could receive a definitive winner by way of overtime, Cody was busted open by a steel chair over the head from Shawn Spears who came out to attack him.
The wounded Cody was then helped to the back by MJF, SCU and a team of referees.
The Elite defeated Lucha Bros and Laredo Kid:
With Fyter Fest taking place at the CEO Fighting Game Championships, it was only right that The Elite would come to the ring dressed in Street Fighter themed-attire.
An intense match full of high-speed and hard-hitting action saw The Elite claim a huge win over Lucha Bros and Laredo Kid last night when Kenny Omega landed the V Trigger followed by the One-Winged Angel for the victory.
The Young Bucks will go on to face Cody and Dustin Rhodes at next month's Fight for the Fallen whilst Kenny is set to take on CIMA in singles competition.
Jon Moxley defeats Joey Janela:
The main event of the night saw Jon Moxley make his in-ring debut for All Elite Wrestling against the "bad boy" Joey Janela in what was billed as a non-sanctioned match. The pair went hell for leather in showing the Daytona crowd just how far they were willing to go in order to get the better of each other.
Not only were ladders jumped from but multiple tables - some with barbed wire attached to them - were broken all in a brutal attempt just to win the match.
In the end, it took Moxley hitting Janela with a Paradigm Shift onto a bed of thumbtacks spilt across the ring to claim his debut victory in the company.
Before the show ended, Kenny Omega rushed down to the ring and attacked Moxley, exacting his revenge for the beating he got at the hands of Moxley at Double Or Nothing.
AEW's next PPV, 'Fight for the Fallen', will be at Daily’s Place Amphitheatre at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday, July 13th.
This event will again only be available through Fite.tv in partnership with ITV Box Office in the UK & Ireland.
