Marmite Peanut Butter to hit shelves after 'overwhelming demand'
Love it or hate it, Marmite Peanut Butter is set to spread across the UK's breakfast tables following public demand, the brand says.
The product, which blends the famously divisive yeast spread with crunchy peanut butter, will be on sale on Monday in selected stores ahead of a nationwide roll-out.
Marmite is confident the product will rise to success, adding it is "delighted" to help satisfy what it believes is one of the nation's cravings.
The spread is the brand's first permanent product innovation since Marmite first hit the shelves in 1902, it said.
It comes after what Marmite describes as "overwhelming demand" from fans of the yeast extract who have been combining the two toast toppers at home for years.
Opinion has been spread on the new concoction, with people taking to Twitter to express their opinion.
One woman wrote the new product combines two of her least favourite products, another pleaded to be "hooked up" with the spread by the brand ahead of its release.
It is the second piece of good news in three days for Marmite lovers.
Papa John’s announced earlier this week it was launching a pizza with a Marmite and cheese stuffed crust.
