Colorado drivers in lucky escape as avalanche blankets motorway in snow

Drivers in Colorado had a lucky escape on Sunday when an avalanche almost hit a motorway.

Video filmed by Jacob Easton showed a torrent of snow rolling down a mountainside, not far from Copper Mountain.

Although the avalanche stops short of hitting the Interstate 70, it released a huge cloud of snow dust which blankets much of the road.

Easton told local media that he and his father escaped unharmed, albeit shaken by witnessing the power of the avalanche.
