Polar bears caught 'kissing' at Budapest Zoo

A pair of polar bears have been caught "sharing a kiss" at Budapest Zoo, to the amusement of onlookers.

Love was in the air as the affectionate couple got comfortable at the zoo in Hungary on February 5.

The zoo received two young polar bear brothers, named Belij and Serij, in 2017, however, it is not clear if these are the same animals.

According to Polar Bears International, an organisation dedicated to the species, the animals act in this way when they're asking for something.

Bupapest Zoo has a long history of polar bear keeping, with the public able to view them in their enclosure by the end of the 19th century and and after 1912 they were kept regularly.

Polar bears have been spotted kissing at the zoo before, with a pair recorded in 2017.
