Manchester United interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expects to be without both Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial for at least a fortnight.

Lingard was substituted just before half-time in the Champions League defeat to Paris St Germain in midweek with a hamstring injury while Martial's groin complaint saw him withdrawn before the start of the second half.

Solskjaer said: "I think they'll be out for two to three weeks, looking at it now."

The news is a huge blow for United, who travel to Chelsea for an FA Cup fifth round clash on Monday before welcoming Premier League title challengers Liverpool to Old Trafford next weekend.

The injuries to Lingard and Martial create an opportunity for the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku, both of whom have been largely restricted to bench duty under Solskjaer.

However, Solskjaer also included teenage attackers Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes as players who could be pushing for first-team roles. He said: "It's a chance for anyone who plays. If it's Alexis or Romelu or who starts or if it's Chongy or Angel.

"Anthony and Jesse have done very well for us, they're vital in the attacking part with their attributes with their pace but then again with Rom and Alexis they've got different skillsets so they will be able to show what they can do."

Solskjaer lamented an injury to 17-year-old Academy player Mason Greenwood.

He added: "You're looking at young players. We're thinking 'OK, Mason Greenwood now's your time to step in' and he's injured, unfortunately. He's out for a couple of weeks as well. That's just the way the luck goes. Mason will get his chance later on."
