US police save elephant seal stuck at the side of road

Police officers in California were forced into carrying out a very different kind of traffic stop.

On Wednesday, officers in San Luis Obispo County found an elephant seal at the side of the road and then set about getting it to safety.

The seal was on the wrong side of a major road, which the police blocked, allowing them to guide it back towards the sea.
