Ariana Grande laughs off Japanese palm tattoo typo

Ariana Grande's new Japanese tattoo she got in celebration of her new hit single '7 Rings' seems to have got rather lost in translation.

The spelling mistake was pointed out by fans after the singer unveiled the tattoo on the palm of her hand on a now deleted Instagram post.

What should have read '7 Rings' actually spelt "shichirin” which is a type of small charcoal grill.

But the pop star brushed off comments mocking her mistake, saying people should "leave my grill alone".

Ariana responded to one fan who commented under the picture of the offending body art saying she had known she had missed out a letter but the procedure was so painful she could not stand to have it completed.

The tattooist had warned her the palm of the hand was the "most painful spot" to have the work done, but Ariana said she had been "curious".

She said it was now her "favourite" one of her tattoos but not one that will last as the skin on the palm of your hand peels so much the art work is unlikely to be permanent.

She told fans she would "suffer thru the whole thing next time".
