Cork firefighters rescue stranded dolphin on River Lee
A dolphin has been rescued from the banks of a river in Cork, after getting stranded.
Firefighters freed the animal on Sunday after being called out to reports of a dolphin stuck on the banks of the River Lee.
A pedestrian had spotted it stuck in low-hanging tree branches.
The dolphin swam into the lower reaches of the River Lee from Cork Harbour where dolphins and seals are often spotted.
